Dolphin Conservation Pact Signed

WASHINGTON (AP) - The United States and six other countries signed an agreement Thursday to protect dolphins and other marine species in the eastern Pacific Ocean.

Secretary of State Madeleine Albright signed for the United States and was accompanied at a ceremony by representatives of Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama and Venezuela.

Negotiations on the legally binding agreement were concluded in February.
