Air France Statement on the Accident of AF 422, a Leased Tame Airlines Aircraft, From Bogota to Quito

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 21, 1998--A Tame Airlines Boeing 727-200 leased to Air France as flight AF 422, crashed yesterday afternoon at 4:40 p.m. local time just after takeoff from Bogota, Colombia. The flight was en route to Quito, Ecuador. The cause of the accident is not yet known.

There were 43 passengers and ten Tame crew members on board.

Air France has put into place, locally and in Europe, the necessary means to notify family members and send those who request it to Colombia.
